Senator Godswill Akpabio has reportedly tendered his resignation as Minority Leader of the eighth Senate, amid speculation of his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Akpabio, a bigwig of the PDP, made this known in a letter dated August 4, and addressed to the Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Emmanuel Bwacha.
He, however, did not state any reason for his resignation.
But the former governor of oil-rich Akwa Ibom thanked the senate leadership and referred to the PDP as “our great party”.
