Suicide bombers on Wednesday attacked the 333 Artillery defunct Mammy Market in Maiduguri, the Borno capital, wounding 15 persons.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Damian Chukwu, confirmed the attack.
According to a statement, two female suicide bombers on board a tricycle, with Reg No.K621, had attempted to force themselves into the market at about 8:00 pm on Wednesday.
The first bomber was said to have gone to the gate to purchase a ticket to access the market but was shot into explosion by a soldier on sentry.
Afterwards, the tricycle rider fled while the 2nd bomber detonated his Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the tricycle.
