Mancini becomes Italy Head Coach?


Italy have confirmed former Inter Milan and Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini as their head coach.

According to Italian football federation (FIGC), Mancini has been saddled with a task of reviving the fortunes of the four-time world champions, who failed to qualify for this year’s World Cup.

The Europeans have been without a substantive coach since Gian Piero Ventura was dismissed after the World Cup failure.

Italian FA commissioner Roberto Fabbricini said Mancini has been chosen because he “had a great desire to sit on the Italy bench and he proved it in a concrete way.
